We perform toxicological risk assessments to set exposure or cleaning levels at which adverse effects are unlikely to occur.

These risk assessments are health-based and/or hazard-based, depending on the report type. Reports summarize the data that was analyzed, include a final assessment (recommendation), and provide justification for the recommendations.

CVs for the authoring scientist are available by request.

The occupational health categorization (OHC) is a health-based risk assessment, developed to guide appropriate manufacturing and worker handling for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with limited information.

These reports are 2-3 pages long, written for a non-technical audience, and include summarized information about hazard and risk.

Occupational Exposure limits are compound-specific exposure limits intended to provide a level at which adverse effects are unlikely to occur in a worker who is exposed 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, for a lifetime.

These reports are most appropriate for pharmaceuticals that have completed non-clinical testing and Phase II clinical trials or later.

Acceptable Daily Exposures in the US, or Permissible Daily Exposures in the UK, are levels at which a compound can exist as a contaminant in another pharmaceutical with a low risk of causing an adverse health effect in patients.

The intent is to manage risk by limiting cross-contamination and residual levels in manufacturing environments in which multiple pharmaceuticals are produced using the same equipment.

It is most appropriate for pharmaceuticals that have completed non-clinical testing and Phase II clinical trials or later.

Safety data sheets (SDSs), formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs), communicate hazards to first responders. SDSs are often required for shipment of a compound or pharmaceutical.

These are appropriate for any stage of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) that are to be shipped for testing or development.

Our team is knowledgeable in both hazard classification (GHS) and transportation (IATA, IMDG), and all SDS classifications are prepared or reviewed by Registered Professionals of the American Industrial Hygeine Associaton’s (AIHA) SDS and Label Authoring Registry.
